[University-Industry Collaboration] Collaborative Education through University-Industry Partnerships: Driving the Seamless Integration of Research, Teaching, and Industry into Lasting Success

To foster deep collaboration between the university and industry, promoting joint talent development and integrating industry, academia, and research, LeShou Agricultural & Pastoral Group and Cangzhou Vocational Technical College held a signing ceremony for their school-enterprise cooperation agreement on the afternoon of June 7, 2022. Attending the event were Zhong Jinghong, President of LeShou Agricultural & Pastoral Group; Qin Wen'an, General Manager of LeShou Duck Industry; Cui Defu, Chief Animal Husbandry Expert and Director of the Engineering Technology Center; Zhang Xiaodong, Administrative Director; and Cao Zhenchao, Head of Human Resources, representing LeShou. Meanwhile, Yang Jingli, President of Cangzhou Vocational Technical College, along with Vice Presidents Meng Hongwu and Zhang Lianrui, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Agricultural and Pastoral Engineering Department, Director of the department,耿博, and Wang Chunming, Director of Teaching and Research Management for the same department, also participated in the signing ceremony.

Before the signing ceremony, accompanied by company leaders, all attendees toured the feed production line and the technical quality control laboratory of Leshou Agricultural and Pastoral Group's Feed Division. During the visit, relevant company representatives engaged in an in-depth discussion with university officials, aiming to deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research and further strengthen collaboration between the university and the enterprise.

Le Shou Agricultural and Pastoral Group is a nationally recognized producer of roasted duck carcasses, employing over 1,700 people. Its core business activities encompass breeding ducks, feed processing, meat duck farming, slaughter and carcass preparation, meat segmentation, cooked-food processing, and a nationwide chain of roasted duck restaurants. Together, these operations have formed a well-integrated industry chain that seamlessly combines primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, enabling the company to achieve fully integrated management. The company’s flagship products include roasted duck carcasses, segmented duck meat, various livestock and poultry feeds, leisure-style marinated duck snacks, and comprehensive roasted duck restaurant chain services.

At the symposium, Zhong Jinghong warmly welcomed Yang Jingli and her delegation. He provided an overview of the company’s core business, its growth journey, and its talent requirements, emphasizing the organization’s strong interest in areas such as talent development, technology R&D and innovation, and information services. He expressed hope that Leshou Agricultural & Pastoral Group and the college could jointly explore collaborative opportunities in industry, academia, and research in the future, paving the way for deeper university-enterprise partnerships and driving the company’s high-quality industrial growth.
Cangzhou Vocational and Technical College is a renowned higher vocational institution, officially established as a full-time, regular higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province. The college employs 918 faculty and staff members and currently enrolls 12,000 full-time students. It houses the Cangzhou Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and Cangzhou School of Industry and Trade. Comprising 10 departments, 3 divisions, and 1 institute, the college offers a total of 53 specialized programs.

Yang Jingli shared an overview of the college’s founding journey, its academic development, and key details about graduate employment. He expressed hope for actively exploring innovative models of industry-university collaboration and talent-development programs in the future, with the aim of further expanding job opportunities and career pathways for graduates—and ultimately building a strong bridge between academia and industry. Additionally, he engaged participants in a discussion on various forms of industry-university partnerships, as well as collaborative efforts in research, education, and innovation. Looking ahead, he highlighted that deeper cooperation could be achieved through initiatives such as establishing corporate classrooms, jointly developing talent-focused "order-based" training programs, and offering summer internship opportunities.
Finally, the seminar concluded successfully amid warm applause. Through this discussion, the university and the enterprise will undoubtedly join forces to establish a comprehensive, end-to-end, and deeply collaborative partnership. Moving forward, they will jointly launch various forms of vocational skills training tailored to industry needs and societal demand for professional talent. Guided by the university-enterprise approach that integrates education, research, and industry, both sides are committed to delivering high-quality, impactful vocational training programs. Meanwhile, Leshou Agricultural & Pastoral Group and Cangzhou Vocational Technical College reached a consensus on further advancing the co-creation and shared benefits of their institutional and industrial collaboration.
