The conversation about COVID-19 hasn’t died down yet, and now Henan’s flooding has once again grabbed the nation’s attention. Meanwhile, almost before we could catch our breath, a new virus—Deltacron—has already begun sweeping across the globe. This summer of 2021 has been particularly tough, with the livestock industry facing an unprecedented wave of outbreaks. Yet, even in the midst of this relentless heat, a small but dedicated veterinary team from Leshou Duck Farm’s free-range division has stepped up—some members have turned gray overnight, others have lost significant weight, many haven’t had a full night’s sleep, and some have been fielding calls since the crack of dawn. One team member, though living just five kilometers from home, hasn’t returned for days. It’s this very team that has managed to bring a touch of warmth to an otherwise mercilessly challenging summer.
From the moment they first stepped into Leshou, their destinies became firmly tied to the company—a grand vessel carrying their careers. Leshou is the ship that propels their professional journey, while they, in turn, are the sailors tirelessly steering it forward, guiding it through turbulent waters and ensuring its safe passage. This responsibility is one they cannot shirk. This summer, the aquaculture industry faced an unprecedented outbreak, and once again, they were among the first to step up and take action. Leaders immediately rolled out comprehensive strategies, which the team swiftly put into practice. They sought advice from experts, delved into countless books, and even scoured academic papers on related diseases—so much so that discussions about these illnesses often spilled over into mealtime conversations. Throughout the entire summer, they worked tirelessly without ever clocking out, yet not a single complaint was heard.
They deliver medicine to farmers at noon without a break, answer their calls in the early hours of the morning to resolve urgent issues, and even make late-night house calls for consultations. Yet, despite sweating profusely in the heat, they’re thrilled just to enjoy an ice cream. They truly embody Le Shou’s core values—“Be honest in character, and diligent in action”—showcasing these principles with every step they take. These are truly adorable, admirable, and deeply responsible men!
In this department, when technicians are swamped with work, the leader even steps in personally to deliver medication. And when someone takes a day off, other technicians eagerly volunteer to share the workload—never letting delays interfere with diagnosing and treating patients. Everyone has clearly defined roles: some bravely take the lead on the front lines, while others provide solid support from behind the scenes. Together, they’re all doing their part to help overcome this challenging situation.
As the Chinese saying goes, "When the tree falls, the monkeys scatter," a metaphor often used to describe employees who lack loyalty to their company. Yet, in our case, not a single member of the "Fangyang Department"—this small, independent team—lost faith or gave up when the company faced its toughest challenges. Instead, they demonstrated an unwavering spirit of unity, working tirelessly day and night to see the team through the crisis. Their relentless determination, unyielding perseverance, and courageous resolve in the face of adversity ultimately helped them overcome every obstacle. After all, what may have seemed like sheer luck was, in fact, the direct result of their relentless dedication and hard work—no exaggeration whatsoever!
