Mr. Gao Xijun, Chairman of Leshou Agricultural and Pastoral Group, delivered a report on the current status and future prospects of Leshou Duck Industry.

Le Shou Agricultural and Pastoral Group is driving industry development through the deep integration of its primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, establishing itself as a leading green, full-chain brand for Chinese roast duck. Founded in 1998, the group boasts 1 branch company and 7 wholly-owned subsidiaries, employing over 1,200 people across 14 production facilities covering a total area of 1,225 acres. Among these subsidiaries, Hebei Le Shou Duck Industry Co., Ltd. stands out as a national key enterprise specializing in agricultural industrialization—and it’s widely recognized as a top-tier, full-chain producer of roast duck blanks nationwide. The company’s core business spans corn cultivation, breeding of parent ducks, feed processing, meat duck farming, slaughter and blank production, as well as ready-to-eat food processing and a nationwide chain of roasted duck restaurants. Together, these operations have created a highly integrated, comprehensive full-chain ecosystem for roast duck production, perfectly embodying the seamless convergence of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries.

Chairman Gao Xijun provided guests with a detailed introduction to Leshou Agricultural and Pastoral Group’s integrated, three-sector deep-integration, full-chain management model, highlighting the company’s unique strengths, distinctive features, and strategic vision. The company is rapidly advancing the roast duck industry through industrialization, and currently, it’s constructing the second production facility for Leshou Duck Industry’s meat duck slaughtering and carcass processing in Guozhuang Town, Xian County. Once operational, this new facility will boost the company’s total roast duck carcass production capacity to 20 million ducks annually, making it the largest nationwide hub for supplying high-quality roast duck carcasses. In 2018, the company established Beijing Leshou Yufang Catering Management Co., Ltd., launching a nationwide franchise program to open takeaway roast duck chain stores. To strengthen its brand presence at the consumer level, Leshou has initiated the “Thousand Cities, Ten Thousand Stores, Million Entrepreneurial Dreams” plan, aiming to establish 3,000 to 5,000 roast duck outlets across China within the next 3 to 5 years. This ambitious initiative seeks to bring the iconic historical and cultural delicacy of Beijing-style roast duck into the daily lives of families across the country, placing it firmly on people’s tables.

Mr. Qin Wen'an, General Manager of Leshou Duck Industry, delivered a report on the opportunities and challenges facing duck enterprises after resuming production.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the catering industry has suffered a devastating blow across all sectors and business models. However, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee, the entire nation has united as one, persevering through challenges with unwavering determination. As routine epidemic prevention and control measures have taken hold, economic and social activities are gradually returning to normal, while production and daily life are accelerating their recovery. Consequently, the catering industry is also steadily rebounding toward pre-pandemic levels.

Meanwhile, post-pandemic, green, healthy, safe, and high-quality will become the driving forces behind dining consumption. Consumers will increasingly shift from prioritizing "affordability" to valuing "trust," with businesses' credibility emerging as the primary focus of consumer attention. Additionally, supply chains will see enhanced traceability, while the industry continues to rebuild consumer confidence by strengthening its own standardization efforts and bolstering its capabilities in safety and health management.

General Manager Qin Wen'an emphasized that, in the face of a complex market environment, the company must adhere to high standards and quality, making food safety across the entire industry its absolute priority. To achieve this, we will focus on sourcing premium duck breeds, using superior feed and nutrition, maintaining optimal breeding conditions and water quality, implementing rigorous disease prevention protocols, minimizing drug residues, and ensuring thorough food-testing procedures—all while upholding strict production processes and processing environments to guarantee top-tier product quality. Additionally, he stressed the importance of enhancing standardized, scalable, digital, and information-driven operations; increasing investments in corporate R&D to bolster our core competitiveness; strengthening internal management practices across the board; fostering greater industry self-regulation and collaboration; and cultivating a robust corporate culture.

In the afternoon, members of the Duck Industry Committee held a collective discussion session on the recent industry study tour organized by Leshou Duck Farming.
