During that period, people felt fear and despair toward it.

There is no specific cure, it’s highly contagious, and the mortality rate is very high.

II. The Three Years of Fighting the Pandemic

It's been three years now.

Three years is neither too long nor too short.

It can help a newborn baby toddle confidently into kindergarten.

It can also allow a middle school student to study diligently through years of hard work and achieve perfect merit.

It can add a few extra gray hairs and a couple of wrinkles to weary parents.

It can also help us, as young people, grow more mature, learn resilience, and master the art of taking responsibility.

It's been three years—every time, we’re constantly on edge, hiding and tiptoeing around.

It's been three years— we’ve always kept our social distance, too afraid to step closer and exchange a few words.

It's been three years— we can’t gather like we used to, chatting and raising our glasses together anymore.

It's been three years—now we can’t just pack up and go on a hiking trip whenever we feel like it, the way we used to.

Three years have brought us too many changes.

Three years have helped us develop many habits.

In three years, the world seems to have grown smaller—limiting the radius of our activities and shrinking the space we call home.

Over the past three years, our hearts have grown wider, we’ve come to understand the importance of health, and we’ve learned to embrace life’s challenges.
